Yesha House

Yesha House is a white building with clean architectural lines that stands within gardens in Givat Brenner and features open spaces throughout. The sanatorium combines medical and residential functions within its structure, reflecting the design approach of that period.

The building was established in 1935 as a vegetarian health resort and evolved into a general sanatorium after 1948. This shift reflects the changes that healthcare underwent in the newly forming state.

The building shows how early kibbutzim created their own health facilities and what role such places held for the community. Visitors can still sense today the importance that wellness held in the founding phase of this movement.

The sanatorium sits in a rural area south of Rehovot and is best explored during daylight hours. The location occupies spacious grounds with gardens, so allow time to walk through the property.

The building was among the first in Israel to apply structured dietary programs for therapeutic purposes and experimented with alternative healing methods. These health experiments were unusual for the region and marked an early approach to holistic wellbeing.
