HaAliya HaShniya Garden, Urban park in Givatayim, Israel
HaAliya HaShniya Garden is an urban park spanning 16 hectares on Kozlovsky Hill with walking paths and picnic areas throughout the grounds. The space includes jogging trails, cycling routes, and children's playgrounds spread across the landscaped terrain.
The park was designed by landscape architect Victor Meir in 1954 and commemorates the Second Aliyah, a significant immigration wave from 1904 to 1914. The layout reflects the importance of this period in the country's development.
The garden serves as a gathering place where locals walk, meet friends, and spend time together throughout the week. Community events and performances happen regularly here and shape the neighborhood's social rhythm.
The park has adequate parking for visitors arriving by car, and all main pathways are easy to access. Open areas work best during cooler morning or evening hours, making these times ideal for walking and outdoor activities.
The eastern section contains an observatory built in 1968 that offers visitors a chance to explore the night sky from an urban setting. This collaboration between the Israeli Astronomical Association and the local municipality remains an unusual feature for a city park.
