India Tower, Skyscraper project in Marine Lines, Mumbai, India
India Tower is a proposed skyscraper in Marine Lines, Mumbai, planned to reach over seven hundred meters in height when completed. The building would rise on one hundred twenty-six floors above ground and five basement levels, with a total floor area of one hundred fifty thousand square meters (approximately one million six hundred thousand square feet).
Construction began in the year two thousand ten under the direction of the Dynamix Balwas Realty group. Work stopped a year later due to disputes with municipal authorities.
The structure incorporates futuristic design elements by Foster and Partners, representing Mumbai's evolution from traditional architecture to contemporary urban development.
The site is located in Marine Lines, a neighborhood near the southern tip of Mumbai. Access to the construction area is limited because the project has been on hold for over a decade.
Foster and Partners designed the tower with futuristic lines intended to express Mumbai's aspiration for a contemporary landmark. The project aimed to combine residential units, offices, and hotel space within a single building.
