Dausa district, Administrative district in Jaipur division, India
Dausa district is an administrative area in Rajasthan with several internal divisions, each with its own administrative center and headquarters. The region encompasses numerous villages and towns distributed across these subdivisions, forming a rural landscape with scattered population centers.
The district was established in 1991 when several administrative zones separated from a neighboring region to form an independent entity. The following year, another administrative zone joined the district from elsewhere, completing the current structure.
The region carries strong craft traditions visible in local markets and village homes where artisans work with clay and natural materials. Traditional pottery and woven goods remain central to daily economic and social life across the communities.
The cooler months offer the best visiting conditions, as the area becomes quite hot during summer and makes walking uncomfortable. Comfortable shoes are essential since the region spans a wide area and travel between locations involves significant distances.
The area has a long history as an important trade hub in the region, with traces of ancient trade routes still visible across the landscape today. Some sections of the original routes remain recognizable in the terrain and reflect past prosperity connected to commerce.
