Campbell Bay National Park

The park covers 426 square kilometers of tropical rainforests, mangroves, and coral reefs along the southern coast of Great Nicobar Island.

Established in 1992, this protected area emerged as a response to growing concerns about preserving the natural ecosystems of the Nicobar archipelago.

The territory maintains connections with indigenous Shompen communities who have developed sustainable practices within the forest regions for generations.

Visitors require special permits from the Forest Department and can access the park via scheduled ferry services departing from Port Blair.

The national park contains rare megapode birds that build large mounds of leaves and soil to incubate their eggs.
