The campus covers approximately 196 hectares and includes modern facilities such as classrooms, libraries and residential quarters designed to support postgraduate education and scholarly work.

The name recalls a monastery school that once drew scholars from many parts of Asia. Today, visitors can see how teaching methods from South Asia connect with international research approaches on the campus.
The campus is located around 12 kilometers from the archaeological site of the ancient monastery and can be reached via roads from Rajgir town center. Visitors should note that this is an active academic campus where access to facilities may vary depending on the university calendar.
The campus follows a complete energy neutrality strategy and integrates recycling along with resource conservation measures into administrative and academic operations. The buildings and outdoor spaces are designed to work together with the natural environment of the surrounding area.
