The National Institute of Fashion Technology is a fashion education school in New Delhi that belongs to a network covering 19 locations across India. Students here study design, management, and technical skills related to clothing and textiles.
The Ministry of Textiles founded this school in 1986 to train professionals for the Indian fashion industry. The Indian Parliament granted it statutory recognition in 2006.
The institute integrates traditional Indian textile techniques with modern design principles through specialized programs in textile design, leather crafts, and fashion studies.
The facility has workshops for garment making, photography, weaving, dyeing, and pattern creation where learners work with real materials and equipment. The campus sits in the Hauz Khas neighborhood of New Delhi.
Instructors and learners worked with the Indian Army to develop a new camouflage uniform with a digital pattern. Soldiers have worn this uniform across the country since 2022.
