Narendra Modi Stadium, Cricket stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, India
The Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad, is an oval cricket ground ringed by concentric tiers of orange, yellow and blue seats beneath a white roof held up by thin white pillars. A rectangular white building with a dark roof stands at the far side of the field, at the base of the middle tier.
Originally constructed in 1982 and officially opened in November 1983, the stadium underwent complete reconstruction between 2015 and 2020 to achieve its current record-breaking capacity.
The stadium is home to the Gujarat Titans IPL franchise and has hosted the IPL finals of 2022, 2023 and 2025. Its name honours Narendra Modi, who was Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014 and president of the Gujarat Cricket Association from 2009 to 2014. British band Coldplay played two shows here on 25 and 26 January 2025.
Operated by the Gujarat Cricket Association, the stadium is accessible via Stadium Road in Sabarmati and features four main entrance points with modern facilities for spectators and media.
The stadium hosted U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to India in February 2020 during the Namaste Trump event, welcoming over 100,000 attendees for this diplomatic occasion.
