Achut Bibi's Mosque and Tomb

Achut Bibi's Mosque and Tomb is an Indo-Islamic architectural complex in Dudheshwar. The entrance features two arches and two minarets, while the southern section houses a tomb with thirty-two pillars and eight domes.

The complex was built in 1469 by minister Haji Malik Bahauddin as a tribute to his wife Bibi Achut Kuki. Its creation occurred during the reign of Mahmud Begada, a period of major architectural development in the region.

The structure blends Islamic and Hindu building techniques, reflecting how different traditions worked together in medieval Gujarat. You can see this fusion in the carved pillars and decorative details throughout the complex.

The monument is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India and remains accessible throughout the year. It continues to serve as an active place of worship, so visitors should approach with respect.

The structure originally stood with seven minarets, but most were destroyed during the 1819 Rann of Kutch earthquake. This damage substantially altered the building's original appearance.
