Dariya Khan's Tomb, Islamic tomb in Shahibaug, Ahmedabad, India.
Dariya Khan's Tomb is a medieval brick structure with a large central dome surrounded by sixteen smaller domes and five entrances on each side. The structure measures roughly 37 by 37 meters and demonstrates the craftsmanship of its era.
The building was constructed in 1453 for minister Dariya Khan under Sultan Mahmud Begarah. It represents the architectural achievements of medieval Gujarat and shows the building skill of that period.
The building displays traditional Turko-Persian design elements with true arches and a columned hall surrounding the central burial chamber. These architectural features shape how visitors experience the space today.
The tomb sits roughly one kilometer north of Delhi Darwaja and is fairly easy to reach. The thick brick walls keep the interior cool, even on hot days.
This is Gujarat's largest tomb of its kind, with walls nearly 9 feet thick. Inside, there are several additional burial chambers that visitors often miss.
