Antarvedi, village in Sakhinetipalle mandal, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district, Andhra Pradesh, India

Antarvedi is a village in East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, situated where the Vasishta Godavari river meets the sea. It consists of simple houses with tiled roofs set among fields and narrow roads, with the river as the main feature shaping the landscape.

The famous Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple was built several centuries ago, between the 15th and 16th centuries, and stands opposite the river. The site developed into an important pilgrimage destination from its early days and remains a major draw for believers across the region.

The name Antarvedi refers to the sacred meeting point of river and sea in local belief. Visitors notice how residents gather at temples to pray and come together by the riverbank during festivals, showing how deeply faith shapes daily community life here.

Antarvedi is about 130 kilometers from Kakinada or 100 kilometers from Rajahmundry and is easiest reached by car or bus over village roads. Visitors should plan ahead as there are no organized tour packages, and the best time to visit is between January and February when the annual temple fair takes place.

At the point where the river flows into the sea, short boat rides take visitors to a small island across the water. The location becomes notable during Bhishma Ekadashi when many pilgrims wade into the water to experience the sacred meeting of river and ocean.
