Kevada Mosque

Kevada Mosque is an Islamic monument in Champaner with tall minarets flanking the entrance and three central domes decorating the roofline. The walls display intricate stone carvings both outside and inside.

This monument was built in the 15th century under Mahmud Begada's rule and demonstrates the architectural innovations of the Gujarat Sultanate. It stands within the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park.

The building blends Hindu and Muslim design traditions, showing how different architectural styles coexisted and influenced each other in medieval Gujarat.

The site is located near Champaner and is easily accessible when visiting the archaeological park. Visitors should dress respectfully and follow the rules expected at sacred sites.

Next to the main building stands a square cenotaph topped with a fluted dome, alongside an old water tank used for ritual purification. These separate structures reveal the religious practices that shaped how the complex was built.
