National Institute of Technology, Warangal is an engineering school in Hanamkonda district, India, set on a spacious site of around 100 hectares. The facility has laboratory buildings for various engineering subjects, a large library, and several research centers spread across the campus grounds.
The school was founded in 1959 as a Regional Engineering College and initially offered a few degree programs. In 2002, the institution gained the status of a National Institute of Technology and has since expanded its program offerings.
The institute is also known as NIT Warangal and attracts students from many Indian states who live together in campus hostels. The sports grounds on campus see daily use by groups who play cricket or practice running exercises.
Access to the campus is usually limited to students, staff, and registered visitors. The main buildings are located close to each other, and signposted paths run through the entire site.
