Warangal Fort, 13th century fort in Warangal, India
The stone fortress extends across 19 kilometers with 45 towers and three concentric defensive walls made of earth, stone, and mud respectively.
The Kakatiya Dynasty constructed this military stronghold during the 13th century under King Ganapatideva, with later additions by Rani Rudrama and Prataparudra II.
Four ornamental gates known as Kakatiya Kala Thoranam mark the entrances to the former Shiva temple, representing the architectural inheritance of Telangana state.
The Archaeological Survey of India maintains the fort with entry fees of 15 rupees for Indian citizens and 200 rupees for international visitors.
