Hukitola, Colonial building in Kendrapara district, India

The limestone and stone building spans 6,836 square feet with six large rectangular rooms, three chambers, and a veranda featuring nine arches.

Built in 1888 under engineer Hokkey Walker's supervision, the structure stored rice from Burma during the Naanka drought using materials from Barabati fort.

The building demonstrates European Renaissance architecture with multicolored stones and serves as a testament to British colonial influence in coastal Odisha.

Visitors can reach Hukitola via a one-hour boat ride from Ramanagar, with the site open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM throughout the year.

The structure includes four wells for rainwater harvesting, collected through a sloped roof system that channeled water through iron pipes to supply sailors.
