Mother's Wax Museum

Mother's Wax Museum is a wax museum in New Town featuring life-size replicas of notable figures from politics, entertainment, sports, and history. The figures are arranged in spacious exhibition halls where visitors can view them from different angles.

The museum opened in 2014 as the first major wax museum in eastern India, following the model of international wax collections. The opening marked the beginning of a new form of educational entertainment in the region.

The collection displays statues of regional figures such as Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam, representing Bengali and Indian heritage. Visitors can walk close to these figures and observe the craftsmanship of each representation.

The museum maintains regular opening hours throughout the year, with extended hours during festivals and holidays. Visitors should allow enough time to explore all the halls at a comfortable pace.

Local artisans and sculptors created each wax figure using traditional techniques combined with modern technology to ensure accurate facial representation. This blend of handcrafted work and contemporary tools makes each figure a distinctive work of local artistry.
