Eco Park, Urban park in New Town, India
Eco Park is an urban park in New Town that covers a large area with water bodies, themed gardens, and several botanical sections. The complex is divided into three separate zones, each offering different landscape types and recreational options.
Development began in July 2011 under the guidance of the regional government, with a state infrastructure corporation coordinating the construction. Completion happened gradually over several years with ongoing expansion of individual areas and facilities.
The open-air amphitheater seats several thousand visitors and hosts regular music events and dance performances on weekend evenings. Many families arrive early for these evening programs and spend the afternoon exploring the surrounding themed gardens before the show begins.
The park remains closed on Mondays and opens in the late afternoon from Tuesday through Saturday, while Sunday entry begins around midday. The paths cover large distances, so comfortable shoes are advisable, and many areas are best explored using rental bicycles or electric vehicles.
On Sabuj Sathi Island stands a glass house that can only be reached by boat and offers panoramic views across the complex. This small island sits within the central water body and provides a quiet retreat away from the main pathways.
