Statue of Ahimsa, Jain statue in Mangi-Tungi, Nashik district, India
The Statue of Ahimsa stands 108 feet tall with an additional 13-foot pedestal, making it visible from considerable distances in Maharashtra's landscape.
Construction of this monumental statue began in 2002 following inspiration from Jain nun Gyanmati, reaching completion on January 24, 2016.
The statue represents Rishabhanatha, the first Jain Tirthankara, and sits at one of Maharashtra's four sacred siddha kshetras pilgrimage locations.
The statue remains open for visitors throughout the day without entry fees, with nearby accommodations including Holiday Inn Express and Radisson Blu.
Sculptors used more than 10,000 truckloads of rock material to create this single-piece marble structure at 4,343 feet above sea level.
