Venugopalaswamy Temple, Devanahalli, Hindu temple in Devanahalli Fort, Karnataka, India
The Venugopalaswamy Temple features stone walls decorated with friezes depicting scenes from the Ramayana, alongside intricate pillar carvings in the Mukhamantapa section.
Built during the post Vijayanagara empire period, the temple contains a Kannada inscription from 1697 AD and two Lord Vishnu statues from the Ganga era.
The temple structure incorporates Dravidian architectural elements with a spacious inner Prakara, navaranga, Mukhamantapa, and a compact Garbhagriha at its center.
Located 35 kilometers northeast of Bangalore and 13 kilometers from the International Airport, the temple opens from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
The northern and southern walls of this protected monument narrate the entire Balakandam through detailed stone carvings and stucco work decorations.
