Lumbini Gardens, Recreational park at Nagawara Lake, Bengaluru, India
Lumbini Gardens is a recreational park situated on the banks of Nagawara Lake in Bengaluru with an artificial beach and water-based activities. The facility provides visitors with swimming areas and play zones designed for families and children.
The park operated under the management of Karnataka's Forest Department until the agency declined to renew the lease agreement in 2019. This decision led to the cessation of operations and public access to the lakeside venue.
The park contained a memorial bust of Dr. Rajkumar, a notable film actor from Karnataka, until its removal in January 2022.
The park is located on the southeastern edge of Bengaluru and is accessible by public transportation routes serving the area. Visitors should note that the facility is currently not operational and access may be restricted or limited.
Environmental organizations raised concerns about lake pollution and advocated against private management of the Nagawara Lake area.
