Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Nanded, building in India
Guru Gobind Singh Stadium is a multi-purpose sports venue in Nanded, Maharashtra, mainly used for cricket matches and sporting events. The facility has four official cricket pitches, six practice pitches, well-maintained grass fields with irrigation and drainage systems, and an indoor hall for sports like badminton.
The stadium underwent major renovation in 2017 to upgrade facilities for players and spectators. Further development in 2018 enhanced the cricket pitch for higher-level play and expanded the ground area.
The stadium is named after Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Guru of the Sikhs, who made Nanded his home and died there in 1708. Today it serves as a community gathering place where local teams and families come together to play and watch sports.
The stadium is located less than 1 kilometer from Nanded railway station and about 6 kilometers from the airport, making it easily accessible by local buses and auto-rickshaws. It offers parking, locker rooms, and well-organized facilities for a comfortable visit.
The site was inspected in 2014 by Dilip Vengsarkar, a former Indian cricket captain, who offered support to develop it into an international-standard facility. The stadium once hosted a 400-meter running track alongside political meetings and cultural shows before focusing on sports.
