Chandrabhaga beach

Chandrabhaga is a sandy beach stretching along the Bay of Bengal near Konark, where palm trees line the shoreline over several kilometers. The wide shore provides space to walk and rest, with the water reaching different depths as you move farther out.

This coastal area has been a pilgrimage destination since ancient times, shaped by the Chandrabhaga River that once flowed into the sea here. The construction of the nearby Sun Temple intensified its role as a spiritual center for worship.

The beach stays open year-round and is easy to reach from the parking area near the entrance. You can rent chairs and find food stalls along the way, making it simple to spend several hours here.

At low tide, visitors can gather shells and smooth stones along the shore that have been polished by the waves. This quiet activity goes unnoticed by most, yet it adds a special moment to a beach walk.
