Shitala Mata Temple, Butapaldi

Shitala Mata Temple is a Hindu shrine in Butapaldi with intricate carvings on its platform that depict kirtimukha, elephants, humans and deities across three main sections. The structure includes a mandapa, antarala and garbhagriha, typical components of medieval temple layouts in this region.

The original deity image was replaced with a bust that locals worship as Brahmani or Shitala Mata, who is associated with protection against disease. This worship practice shows how religious use adapts to changes while the place maintains its spiritual importance.
