Baruva Beach, Coastal beach in Srikakulam district, India

The Mahendratanaya River merges into the Bay of Bengal at Baruva Beach, creating a natural intersection of freshwater and marine environments.

Baruva Beach operated as an active seaport during British colonial rule until 1948, marked by two fifty-foot obelisks, one black and one white.

Local temples, including Sri Kotilingeswara Swamy and Janardhana Swamy, draw thousands of visitors for sea bathing ceremonies during November and December festivals.

The beach is accessible via Baruva railway station on the Howrah-Chennai mainline, with regular passenger trains connecting to Palasa and Khurda Road stations.

A commemorative pillar stands on the beach to mark the location where a cargo ship sank in the waters during July 1917.
