Harinarayanpur

Harinarayanpur is an archaeological site in Kulpi containing remains of ancient settlements spread across elevated ground near the Hooghly River. The excavations have uncovered traces of human occupation that span a considerable length of time.

The site shows settlement remains dating back more than 2000 years and is now protected as a Monument of National Importance. Archaeological investigations document how early communities developed and lived in the Hooghly Delta region.

The archaeological findings at Harinarayanpur contribute to understanding ancient settlement patterns in the Bengal region, where both Hindu and Muslim communities now reside.

The site is located in South 24 Parganas district and can be reached through Kulpi railway station. Access is available near National Highway 12, making it reachable by different modes of transport.

Located at coordinates 22°04′53″N 88°14′42″E, this archaeological site preserves evidence of early human habitation in the Hooghly River delta region.
