Changey Falls

Changey Falls is a waterfall in West Bengal where water tumbles through multiple cascades surrounded by green mountains. The site features steep rock formations and dense forests that frame the flowing water from top to bottom.

The geological formations at Changey Falls developed over millions of years through erosion of Himalayan rocks in Kalimpong district. This process was shaped by tectonic movement and shifting water patterns across the mountainous terrain.

Local people view the falls as a sacred site where they offer prayers during specific celebrations. The waterfall holds spiritual meaning in local rituals and practices connected to nature worship.

Reaching the waterfall requires a trek of around 900 meters from the last road access point where vehicles can park. The route involves steep descents and uneven terrain, so sturdy footwear and reasonable fitness are helpful.

The site sits at an elevation of around 2,200 meters, making it one of the highest accessible waterfalls in the Kalimpong area. The high altitude location creates thin air and a sense of distance from lower terrain below.
