Pars Stadium, Modern sports stadium in Shiraz, Iran
Pars Stadium is a football and athletics venue in Shiraz with two tiers of seating and a running track around the grass pitch. The grounds include training facilities, administrative buildings, and parking areas for visitors.
Construction began in 1997 but faced repeated delays, and the stadium did not open until 2017. The nearly two-decade building period was one of the longest for a sports venue of this type in Iran.
The stadium is the home ground of Fath Iran, the most followed football club in Shiraz, and draws supporters from across Fars Province. On match days, the area outside fills with people in club colors long before kickoff.
The stadium is reachable on foot from nearby streets and has parking for those arriving by car. For big matches, arriving early is a good idea, as the seating fills up well before kickoff.
The grass pitch sits above an underfloor heating system that keeps the playing surface in good condition during cold spells. This setup was uncommon for stadiums in the region when the venue opened in 2017.
