Ya'qub ibn al-Layth Mausoleum

The mausoleum exhibits five architectural styles from different Persian periods, constructed with traditional materials including brick, stone, and plaster at 105 meters elevation.

Built in the 9th century, this structure honors Ya'qub ibn al-Layth al-Saffar, the founder of the Saffarid dynasty who led Persian expansion and governance.

The tomb represents a shift from Arab influence to local Persian rule, combining elements of Shia Islam and Sufism in its architectural design.

Located in Dezful County, visitors can reach the mausoleum through the eastern road connecting the cities of Dezful and Shushtar.

The structure features a hexadecagon base, incorporating architectural elements from Saffarid, Seljuk, Ilkhanid, Safavid, and Qajar periods in one building.
