Qotur Bridge

The Qotur Bridge is a steel railway bridge that spans the valley of the Qotur River, measuring about 443 meters long and standing about 119 meters high above the ground. It combines deck arch and truss structures to carry train weight while maintaining structural stability.

The bridge was completed and opened in 1970, marking an important milestone in Iranian railway development. The project enabled improved train connections through challenging terrain and expanded the country's transport network.

Access to the bridge is normally restricted to the railway line, so visitors typically view it from a distance or from passing trains. The valley surrounding the structure offers several vantage points from which it is clearly visible.

The project was designed by engineers from Sverdrup and Parcel, an internationally known firm recognized for complex infrastructure work. This international design brought modern construction techniques to the region and demonstrated contemporary technical standards.
