Saint Sarkis Church, Medieval Armenian church in Khoy, Iran
Saint Sarkis Church contains six stone columns supporting its structure, with light entering through eight small holes in the walls.
The church, completed in 1120, incorporates architectural elements from both Seljuk and Safavid periods during its centuries of existence.
The cathedral features traditional Armenian religious paintings on plaster near the altar, located in the northeast section of the building.
The church includes two entrance doors on the southern side, positioned 807 kilometers from Tehran in the West Azerbaijan Province.
The exterior walls consist of square-shaped lime stones, specifically carved to create a structured pattern throughout the facade.
