Imamzadeh Jafar

Imamzadeh Jafar is an octagonal tower in Borujerd that rises 25 meters high and features a conic dome. The structure combines elements from Seljuk and Ilkhanid architectural traditions and was constructed from brick and mortar.

This mausoleum was built in the 11th century to honor Abulqasim Jafar ibn al-Husayn. His family connection to Shiah Imams established the site as a place of spiritual importance that lasted through medieval times.

The interior halls display ornate tile work that reflects changing artistic tastes across different periods. The decoration tells the story of craftspeople who worked here and passed their skills to future generations.
