Falak-ol-Aflak, Sassanid fortress in Khorramabad, Iran.

The stone fortress spans 300 by 400 meters at its foundation and rises 40 meters above the surrounding area with twelve original towers.

Built during the Sassanid Empire between 224 and 651 AD, the castle served as a military stronghold and imprisoned Roman soldiers during its early period.

The castle represents Persian architectural evolution through multiple dynasties, including the Sassanid, Buyid, Safavid, and Qajar periods.
