Bisheh Waterfall, Natural cascade in Khorramabad County, Iran
Bisheh Waterfall is a water cascade in the Zagros Mountains that drops from a height of about 48 meters and spans roughly 10 meters wide. The water then flows into the Sezar River while passing through dense oak forests on its way downhill.
The waterfall received recognition as a natural monument on the national list in 2008 and was officially protected. This designation underscores its importance for preserving the natural landscape of the region.
The inhabitants of Bisheh Village near the waterfall maintain their traditions through Khorramabadi Luri and Bakhtiyari Luri languages.
The site is located in a mountainous area and is accessible through a railway station on the main route between the south and Tehran. Visitors should be prepared for uneven terrain and forest paths when walking up toward the cascade.
Multiple mountain springs feed the cascade from above and create a constant water flow throughout the year. This natural spring combination allows water to continue flowing even during drier seasons.
