Veresk Bridge

The stone arch bridge spans 112 meters across the Alborz Mountains, rising 110 meters above the valley floor with a main arch of 66 meters.

Italian engineer Cesare Delleani supervised the construction between 1934 and 1935, employing stone and mortar techniques without iron framework during Reza Shah's reign.

The structure represents Persian engineering achievements of the 1930s, connecting Tehran to the Caspian Sea region through a network of 55 mountain tunnels.

The bridge carries multiple daily passenger trains between Tehran and northern Iranian cities, serving as an essential part of the Trans-Iranian railway system.

A memorial beneath the bridge honors construction workers who died during the project, while the chief engineer stood under it with his family during the first train crossing.
