Vali-e-Asr Mosque is a modern prayer house in Tehran with a horizontal design where the floor level rises gradually from the street toward the prayer hall. The interior features cream-colored marble floors, white plaster walls, and a spiral arrangement of ribbed vaults that guide movement through the space.
The land was transformed from a parking lot into a religious site following the Iranian Revolution, having been originally owned by Suleiman Manavi. This conversion reflects broader shifts in how urban spaces were repurposed during that period.
The building rejects conventional mosque designs by omitting domes and minarets, representing a contemporary approach to Islamic prayer spaces in Iran. This makes it a place where modern architecture and religious function find new common ground.
The building includes underground parking levels along with a library and meeting spaces designed for ease of movement through the prayer areas. Stairs and corridors are spacious, making navigation straightforward even during busy times.
