German Speaking Protestant Congregation in Iran

Christ Church is a brick building without a tower in the Gholhak neighborhood with capacity for up to 120 worshippers. It stands on Shahid Sheydayi Street and serves as a place of worship for the German-speaking Protestant community.

The congregation was founded in 1957 by expatriates living in Tehran who needed a place for their faith. The church building was constructed in 1961 as a permanent home for the growing German-speaking community.

The church serves as a gathering place for German-speaking Protestants from multiple countries who come together for regular worship services. It remains an important anchor for people maintaining their faith and language in a foreign setting.

The building is easily accessible and located in an established residential neighborhood. Visitors should check ahead since services follow a fixed schedule with specific days reserved for different language groups.

The congregation maintains a Protestant cemetery in Tehran where members of the German-speaking community are buried. This cemetery is managed on behalf of an international committee and preserves the memory of those who have passed.
