Mellat Park, Urban park in District 3, Tehran, Iran
Mellat Park is a 34-hectare green space in District 3 featuring over 120 tree species and an artificial lake with various recreational facilities. The grounds extend across several street frontages and include parking areas plus a cinema complex with additional amenities.
Construction began in 1966 under the direction of Farah Pahlavi, originally named Shahanshahi Park. A second design phase in 1974 drew inspiration from English garden concepts.
The cinema complex inside hosts film screenings and artistic performances that draw local audiences. It connects recreation with cultural activities and forms a gathering place for the community.
The park is easily accessible from Valiasr Street on the east side and Niayesh Highway to the south. Parking is available across the street, making visits straightforward.
The park features a musical fountain with synchronized water choreography and light effects that performs in the evenings. This combination merges natural elements with artistic design against the Tehran skyline.
