Parsian Azadi Hotel, 26-floor luxury hotel in District 2, Tehran, Iran

Parsian Azadi Hotel is a 26-floor skyscraper in District 2 of Tehran, rising about 295 feet (90 meters) and standing as one of the tallest hotel buildings in the city. It houses several hundred guest rooms, multiple conference halls, and a sports facility spread across its floors.

The building opened in 1978 under the name Hyatt Crown Tehran, just before the Iranian Revolution brought sweeping changes to the country and to the hotel itself. It operated under different names for years before taking its current name in 2008.

The building was designed in the Pahlavi style, which was favored for prestige projects in Iran during the 1970s and combines geometric forms with a monumental scale. Visitors walking through the lobby can still notice the design choices typical of that period, with large open spaces and bold structural lines.

The hotel is located in District 2 of Tehran, a well-connected part of the city reachable by several main roads. Because the building is very tall, it is worth asking at check-in about the layout of the different facilities to make getting around easier.

The sports facility inside the building serves as a training location for Iran's national soccer team, which is unusual for a city hotel. This means guests staying there might occasionally cross paths with national team players in the building.
