Hafragilsfoss, Waterfall in Jokulsargljufur Canyon, Iceland

The Hafragilsfoss waterfall cascades down 27 meters and stretches 91 meters wide within the deep Jokulsargljufur canyon system of northern Iceland.

The glacial river Jökulsá á Fjöllum has carved the canyon over thousands of years, creating a succession of waterfalls including Hafragilsfoss.

The waterfall represents a significant element of Iceland's natural heritage, situated within Vatnajokull National Park, the largest protected area in the country.

Visitors need a 4x4 vehicle to access the waterfall via Road 864, which connects to the Ring Road about 35 kilometers east of Lake Myvatn.

The waterfall presents two distinct viewing experiences, with observation points available from both the eastern and western sides of the canyon.
