Limone Piemonte

Limone Piemonte is an alpine settlement on 1009 meters elevation in southern Piedmont's mountain valleys, sitting at the heart of a territory spanning approximately 71 square kilometers. The village is centered around the Riserva Bianca ski resort, which features 80 kilometers of slopes and is served by multiple transport systems including a gondola and chairlifts.

Railway connections arrived in 1891, marking the transition from a quiet mountain village to a winter sports hub. This transportation breakthrough enabled tourism infrastructure to develop and shaped the community's modern identity.

The village maintains a strong French-Italian character shaped by its location near the border and ties with the French sister city Cap-d'Ail. This connection influences local customs and brings people from both sides together regularly.

The Col de Tende Road Tunnel provides direct access to the French side of the border, connecting the village to Nice and surrounding areas. Winter months are ideal for visiting when snow conditions are optimal and the ski resort operates at full capacity.

The village sits at one of the rare Alpine locations where an international road tunnel allows skiers and travelers to cross between Piedmont and the French Riviera with ease. This geographic peculiarity makes it a unique border crossing point with immediate access to distinctly different landscapes and ways of life.
