Canale d'Agordo, Mountain municipality in Belluno Province, Italy

Canale d'Agordo sits at 976 meters elevation at the confluence of Biois and Liera rivers in the Dolomites of northern Veneto region.

The town, formerly known as Forno di Canale until 1964, operated as a mining center for iron and copper extraction from the 14th century.

The municipality maintains the Pope Luciani Museum, dedicated to Pope John Paul I who was born in this town as Albino Luciani in 1912.

The local area contains over 300 wooden structures called Tabià throughout the Biois Valley and multiple public fountains providing mountain water.

Italy's first dairy cooperative was established in Canale d'Agordo by priest Don Antonio della Lucia during the late 19th century.
