San Francesco di Paola, Minor basilica in Piazza del Plebiscito, Naples, Italy

The basilica features a circular structure with a 34-meter diameter dome supported by 34 Corinthian columns and a portico with six ionic pillars at its entrance.

Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies commissioned the basilica in 1816 after regaining control of Naples from French rule, with architect Pietro Bianchi completing construction in 1824.

The interior displays numerous marble sculptures representing cardinal virtues, alongside significant religious artworks including an altar adorned with lapis lazuli and precious stones.

Visitors can access the basilica daily from 6:45 AM to noon and 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, with modified hours on Sundays from 8:00 AM to noon.

The basilica stands as Italy's principal neoclassical religious structure, incorporating design elements that mirror the architecture of Rome's ancient Pantheon.
