Santa Teresa a Chiaia, Naples, Baroque church in Chiaia district, Naples, Italy.

Santa Teresa a Chiaia is a Baroque parish church in the Chiaia district featuring white stucco decorations on its facade and a Greek cross floor plan with a central dome. The interior displays multiple artworks arranged throughout the space, following the spatial organization typical of Baroque sacred architecture.

The church was founded in 1620 and completed between 1650 and 1662 under architect Cosimo Fanzago. After an earthquake in 1688 caused significant damage, the structure underwent reconstruction to restore its condition.

The church is dedicated to Saint Teresa of Avila, a reformer of the Carmelite order whose devotion remains present in the neighborhood's religious life. The artworks inside, particularly Luca Giordano's paintings, tell stories of Marian veneration and the lives of holy figures.

The church is open to visitors during religious services, allowing exploration of its architectural features and art collection. It is advisable to check opening times and observe respectful behavior while inside this active place of worship.

The main altar holds a statue of Saint Teresa carved by Cosimo Fanzago himself, representing a masterwork of Baroque sculpture. This piece is notable because it was created by the same architect who designed and directed the entire building.
