Villa Pignatelli, Art museum in Chiaia, Naples, Italy
Villa Pignatelli exhibits Neoclassical architecture with its front atrium featuring Doric columns along the Riviera di Chiaia waterfront.
Ferdinand Acton commissioned architect Pietro Valente to design this residence in 1826, which later became property of the Rothschild and Pignatelli families.
The museum displays period furniture, decorative arts, and a collection of 18th and 19th-century French and English carriages in its northern gardens.
The museum opens Wednesday through Sunday from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, with guided tours available through its historic apartments and garden grounds.
The villa retains original Rothschild monograms marked 'CR' on the first floor, reflecting its time as a residence for prominent European banking families.
