Catacombs of Marcellinus and Peter

The Catacombs of Marcellinus and Peter form an extensive underground network beneath Rome with multiple levels and corridor systems containing numerous burial chambers. The tunnels were carved into soft volcanic rock and served early Christians as a burial ground.
