Chianti Sculpture Park, Sculpture garden in Pievasciata, Italy.

Chianti Sculpture Park is an art park set in woodland in Tuscany, displaying contemporary sculptures by international artists. The grounds feature mature oak forest crisscrossed with paths where artworks in various materials are distributed throughout.

The park opened in 2004 after a five-year transformation of untouched forest into an exhibition space by founders Piero and Rosalba Giadrossi. What began as a private initiative grew into a permanent collection of works by artists worldwide.

Artists from around the world have placed their works directly within the landscape, allowing visitors to see how contemporary art objects share space with the trees and forest paths. Each piece feels embedded in its natural surroundings rather than placed on top of them.

The grounds have a wheelchair-accessible path that lets you move around easily and view the works clearly. Guided tours on site help you understand the art installations and their relationship to the forest.

The grounds include an amphitheater where concerts take place during summer months, ranging from classical music to jazz and tango. These events blend art exhibition with live music in unusual forest settings.

Photogenic places in siena

Siena is a Tuscan city built on three hills, where medieval streets wind between brick buildings and open onto piazzas. The shell-shaped Piazza del Campo hosts the Palio horse race twice a year and serves as the town's main gathering place. The Cathedral, with its black-and-white marble facade, stands on one of the highest points. From the top of Torre del Mangia, the city spreads out in all directions, with its terracotta rooftops and surrounding hills visible. Gothic and Renaissance architecture appears throughout the streets, in the form of palaces, churches, fountains and loggias. The Palazzo Pubblico contains frescoes and civic art, while the Pinacoteca Nazionale displays paintings from the Sienese School. The Biblioteca Piccolomini holds illuminated manuscripts. The Basilica of San Domenico rises on a hill, offering views across the rooftops. The Fortezza Medicea and the university botanical garden provide additional perspectives on the city and its landscape. Beyond the center, the Etruscan necropolis at Malignano, Villa di Geggiano with its gardens, and the Chianti sculpture park add to the range of places to explore.
