Blue Tornado, Suspended looping coaster at Gardaland, Italy
Blue Tornado is a suspended looping coaster at Gardaland, Italy. The track runs through five inversions and reaches 80 kilometers per hour (50 miles per hour) across 765 meters (2510 feet) of steel rail.
Manufacturer Vekoma built this installation in 1998 during a park expansion phase. The opening brought a new generation of steel coasters to Italy.
The design features a Panavia Tornado fighter jet model above the station, linking the ride to European military aviation. Visitors see the aircraft model from the queue area, connecting speed with flight technology.
The ride accepts visitors between 140 and 200 centimeters (55 and 79 inches) in height, with three trains running at once. The queue area sits outdoors and may take several minutes during busy periods.
The track includes an extra helix compared to other Suspended Looping Coaster models from the same manufacturer. This extension brings the ride time to 102 seconds and offers more turns than usual.
