Fuga da Atlantide, Water ride in Gardaland, Italy
Fuga da Atlantide is a water ride at Gardaland featuring two major drops of about 19 meters and 800 meters of track through themed environments. The attraction uses ten boats to carry passengers through a mix of gentle floating sections and steep water plunges.
The water ride was built in 2003 by Swiss manufacturer Intamin with an investment of 15 million euros. Its opening marked a major expansion of the park and attracted significant visitor interest.
The ride tells the story of the legendary sunken city of Atlantis using ancient Mediterranean design elements. Visitors move through scenes that reference classical mythology and lost civilizations.
The ride requires a minimum height of 110 centimeters and carries up to 20 passengers per boat at speeds up to 75 kilometers per hour. Visitors should expect to get wet and bring waterproof bags for personal belongings.
The boats are designed to move freely without rails, allowing unpredictable movements through the water channel. This system creates a sense of spontaneity that makes each ride feel different.
