The La Specola Museum exhibits an extensive collection of zoological specimens, including extinct species and historical artifacts across 23 exhibition rooms.
Grand Duke Peter Leopold established the Imperial and Royal Museum of Physics and Natural History in 1775, integrating the Medicean collections of natural specimens.
The museum contains 1,400 anatomical wax models created by specialized craftsmen, displayed in their original 18th-century arrangement with educational drawings.
Located at Via Romana 17, the museum opens Tuesday through Sunday from 9 AM to 5 PM with adult tickets priced at 10 euros.
The Astronomical Tower, designed in 1789, features an octagonal hall with eight windows offering a complete view of Florence.
