Tabarettahütte, Mountain hut in Sulden, Italy
Tabarettahütte is a mountain hut located on the Marlt ridge at 2556 meters elevation. It provides access to mountain routes leading toward Payer Hut and serves as a base for exploring the surrounding alpine terrain.
The hut was built in 1885 as a stopping point for mountaineers exploring the Ortler region. It became an important base for climbers accessing the northern face of this major peak.
The Reinstadler family maintains this Alpine shelter, continuing the tradition of providing mountain hospitality to travelers crossing the South Tyrolean mountains.
The hut is reachable after a two-hour hike from Sulden, following a path through forests and grassy slopes. Visitors should be prepared for variable mountain weather at this elevation.
From its position on Marltschneid, the hut offers views of both the Ortler North Face and expansive vistas across the Sasvenna and Ötztaler Alps. This elevated location provides unobstructed sightlines across several major alpine ranges.
